Children’s Auditions for La bohème

Auditions date: Saturday 12th May, 2018

Time slots: 11am or 12 noon (45-minute workshop audition)

Venue: Church House, High St, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 1HT

Audition call for young people to be part of the children’s chorus in Dorset Opera’s professional production of La bohème, as part of our 2018 Festival. The children will perform alongside international opera singers, in a fully staged and costumed production, with orchestra and sung in Italian, at the Coade Hall, Bryanston School.

  • Young people aged 10-15 may apply
  • The auditions take the form of a 45-minute group singing workshop
  • No preparation or previous experience is required
    Please wear comfortable clothing, and arrive 5 minutes prior to your audition slot (times will be given following your submitted application)
  • Parents/guardians/carers will not be able to wait in the audition room


Being part of the chorus requires a strong commitment from both child and parent to attend all rehearsals and performances:

It is the responsibility of a parent/ carer to act as chaperone. However, a schedule of sharing this duty may be drawn up with parents at early rehearsals. Adults are responsible for getting written permission from the child’s school where a rehearsal may fall on a school day.
